As I was sitting here and pondering over what to write, the thought came to me that there are little children experiencing violence around the world. They see it on television or a part of it while mommy or daddy are sitting and watching the news. How do you think they feel about what is going on? Have you talked with them lately about it?Children may or may not understand but they can still feel the contention that is within in us and others, especially if they are experiencing their on “Ground Zero”. There are many things that children do not understand but feel the contention that is around them. Adults are no different than they are, other than we have a thicker veneer for things such as violence.
We were not created to be barbarian even though that we see so much on the news. We were meant to be the peaceful children of God that are living in a land of freedom. Even though the United States has its social problems as well as governmental problems, we are still the people that seek peaceful solutions. Sure we believe in human rights and we may appear to be the world’s watchdog but we are a country that not only stands for Christian values, but we also stand for humanitarian values, we cannot forget who we and what we stand for as Americans. We do not tolerate human rights violations and sometimes we have to lift a helping hand for people are living a life of tyranny.
We will be experiencing chaos and violence more and more as time passes and so it is important that we learn the principles of peace and endure the psychological effects of terrorism and violence. We are and can be drained of hope and not send out a moments peace to the children that have and are being affected by this violence.
Many people know God and have Him as their iron rod for peace and safety and it is always good to pray for our country and our leaders so that we will not end up being pulled into the world stage of vile carnage. Whether we like it or not we have to believe in a Higher Source that is outside of ourselves. We need to have restored hope for America as well as the hope for blessings to our children and our children’s children around the world.
If we like it or not, God has to come back into the homes of Americans and there has to be responsibility and respect brought back into our families. Who knows you and your family just might like the peace that fills your home.
Let us pray more often that righteousness and good will prevail in the world; so we can get on with living a life of peace, joy, and happiness!
