Many of us have heard President George W. Bush say this in front of the United Nations, ” Either you are with us or you are against us .” What he was referring to was countries that would harbor terrorists. Whatever the case and whatever your thoughts are about President Bush’s comment, it is still a very important principle for us to live by in order for us to live in peace and harmony. Was this a fatal attempt for President Bush to gain support for his agenda by aligning his allies for a cause? Just take a moment to think about the implications of this statement, either you are with us or against us.
It may appear that this is black and white thinking. Well it is! Not giving moral support to America in her time of need is considered un- American. Life is made up of polarities; good-bad, black -white, hot- cold, good or evil. I am not saying that anyone who does not believe the way that many of us do is bad. It is the diversity and how we handle the diversity is what matters.
We need to stop talking at each other and talk with each other so we can find common ground in a culture that has become overwhelmingly polarized. We have a lot on our plates folks and we need to find a common ground to resolve some of the most important issues of our time.
Some people say that I am a no non-sense kind of man. Yes, I am opinionated and yes, I am bold. I will try to articulate my concerns about America with compassion.
There are many of us Americans that are upset about people being passive and not standing for what is right. And of course there are the dissenters that have to bash or tear down all of what is good for America that is also upsetting. In other words their loyalty and patriotism is being questioned.
We are living in some very trial some times right now because America and her future has been looking very bleak for sometime now. It appears that there is an overwhelming presence of evil and violence here at home and around the world, especially in the middle east lately. It is expected to get even worse before it gets better. We need to resolve these kinds of social issues before the elections.
We have become a polarized nation and there most certainly a line that divides us. It is okay to be Secular Progressive, Liberal, Conservative, Republican, or Democrat providing that we are respectful towards each other. We have to adopt the attitude of we can agree to disagree. I believe the problem lies within the political persuasions of people because there is not a voice of harmony coming out of the ranks of their ideology.
We can live with diversity because that is what defines America. We have to learn how to communicate with each other as people looking for solutions and not by living in the problem. Strangely enough we find solutions much quicker and the ease of solving problems is much easier when we are in the solution mode.
America needs you and she needs to be given love and nurturing because of all of the years of wars and contention. She needs us to find common ground so we can establish peace amongst her citizens so that we can flourish in times of economic and political unrest.
United States of America is the greatest country in the world and we stand for something good in the world. We are the light in the dark as well as the City On The Hill. We cannot live off from our ancestors patriotism anymore without us adding our contributions too. We have to contribute to our country NOW in order to be up with the changing tides of the world stage, even if it is nothing but a love of our country that is shared amongst each other.
We can and will be defined in history as either a country that was able to work through our differences, or we can go down in history as slothful people that chose government handouts and that we were brought down by our own demise.
This thing about being too big to fail is non-sense! We can fail folks! We have been on the course for quite sometime when we have companies that take their business overseas to keep from being strangled by government regulations. The dollar has been at risk of failing for quite sometime too.
Our gift of freedom comes from God and if we do not respect the gift, it could very well be taken away from us and given to other nations that will love and protect this precious gift called “Freedom” and the “liberties” that comes along with it.
So I ask you once again, ” Are you with us or are you against us ” when we need you the most? Will we show up in the eleventh hour to claim our freedom or are we going to sluff off the greatest gift given to us from our Forefathers that was inspired by God? We will know how well we endured through this stage of the ” Redefining of America “. We will also know by how well our communities are able to live in peace and harmony through these dangerous times.
